Homeland season 8 will premiere on Sunday, February 9, at 9 PM EST (6 PM PST). This is to be the final season of the highly popular drama series and will consist of 12 55-minute episodes. If you’re traveling abroad (outside the US), don’t worry. We’ll explain how you can use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to live stream every minute of Homeland season 8.
We’ll only be recommending official sources for watching Homeland season 8. If you don’t want to miss any of the final season, unauthorized streams are best avoided. After all, most only offer a low-quality stream with lots of lag. Finally, unlicensed sources may be taken offline for violating copyright. You don’t need to worry about shady, unreliable streams, though, since there are plenty of ways to watch Homeland season 8 officially, even if you’re abroad.
Please keep in mind that Homeland season 8 will only be shown on region-locked platforms. As such, if you’re abroad and looking to watch on your usual streaming services, you’ll need a VPN to stream Homeland.
How to watch Homeland season 8 online with a VPN
Many websites and services verify your location by checking your IP address. This proves problematic when you want to access geo-restricted content. By connecting to a VPN’s server, you receive an IP address for that server’s location. You can, therefore, trick websites into thinking you’re browsing from another country entirely. This allows you to unblock the likes of Homeland season 8 from anywhere in the world.
Here’s how to watch Homeland season 8 online abroad (outside US):
- Select and sign up for a reputable VPN service. We recommend ExpressVPN. However, NordVPN and CyberGhost are affordable alternatives to consider.
- Download and install a VPN app or browser extension, making sure it’s the correct version for your device.
- Open the VPN app or browser extension before connecting to a server in the USA. Doing so will give you a US IP address for unblocking Homeland abroad.
- Go to Showtime and sign in to your account (or sign up if you don’t yet have a Showtime subscription).
- Select a Showtime live stream or on-demand episode which should play without restriction. Still blocked? Try clearing your browser’s cookies before refreshing your browser.
The Homeland season 8 premiere will air live on Showtime. For this reason, it’s good practice to test your VPN with Showtime ahead of the broadcast. You can then troubleshoot any potential issues with your VPN’s customer support, helping avoid any disappointment.
How to watch Homeland season 8 on US TV
Homeland season 8 will premiere on Showtime. There are several ways in which you can watch Showtime online. If you have a US cable TV subscription, you may already have access to Showtime; if so, just sign in to the website using your cable TV provider credentials.
There’s no need to worry if you don’t have cable TV. You can stream Showtime cable-free by signing up through the Showtime website or app. A Showtime subscription costs $10.99 USD per month. Alternatively, you can get Showtime as part of the following streaming services: AT&T TV Now ($76 USD/month), FuboTV ($74.99/month), Sling TV ($40/month), and YouTube TV ($49.99/month). It’s also possible to subscribe to Showtime with Prime Video Channels ($10.99 monthly) though this requires a Prime subscription which is a further $12.99/month.
However you choose to stream Homeland season 8, you’ll need a VPN if watching from abroad since all of the above platforms are geo-restricted. However, you can unblock them outside the US by using a VPN to obtain an American IP address. ExpressVPN unblocks Showtime and comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. This means you can try ExpressVPN risk-free and, if unsatisfied, claim a full refund within the 30-day period.
