The currently available Windows 10 public build displays most used programs/apps and recently added app/program in the left-side of the Start menu. However, the problem is that the list doesn’t display more than one recently installed app or program.
Microsoft has made several changes to the Start menu in the upcoming Windows 10 Anniversary Update build. In Windows 10 Anniversary Update build 14328 or later builds, the Start menu displays up to three programs/apps in the recently added list, and the list can be expanded by clicking the Expand button to view all recently installed programs and apps installed from Store. In short, you can now view all recently added programs with a click.
Apart from the Start menu, one can also view recently installed programs and apps by navigating to Settings. You can see the installation date as well as uninstall the application from Settings.
Follow the given below directions to view recently installed apps and programs in Windows 10.
View recently installed programs and apps in the Start menu
Step 1: Open the Start menu either by clicking the Start button on the taskbar or pressing the Windows logo key on the keyboard.
Step 2: You can find recently installed programs and apps under the Recently added list. The list displays up to three recently added apps and applications, but you can view all newly added programs and apps by clicking the Expand button.
NOTE: If the Recently added list is not appearing, it likely because you have turned off the list in the Settings app. Refer to our add/remove Recently added list in Start menu guide to enable the list.
View recently installed programs and apps in Settings
Step 1: Open the Settings app by clicking its icon on the left side of the Start menu. The Settings app can also be launched by simultaneously pressing the Windows logo and I keys.
Step 2: Once Settings is launched, go to Apps > Apps & features page.
Step 3: Under the Apps & features section, set the Sort by to Install date to view all recently installed programs and apps. The list also shows the install date for each and every program/app on the list.
I hope this helps!
