Microsoft has released Service Pack 1 for Office 2010 to increase Office stability, performance and security of the latest Office suite. SP1 includes all previously released security and performance updates. If you have installed Office 2010, it’s recommended to download and install the free Service Pack 1.
And if you’re not sure who to check if the Service Pack 1 is installed, you can open Add or remove programs by typing appwiz.cpl in Start menu search box or run dialog box, and then click View installed updates. If the SP1 for Office is installed, you will see Office 2010 SP1 entry under Office 2010 section. If you haven’t installed Service Pack 1 for Office yet, please download and install the same now.
However if you are experiencing any issues after installing the recently released Service Pack 1 for Office 2010, you might want to uninstall it. If at any point of time, you decide to uninstall the Office 2010 Service Pack 1 from your machine, here is the simple procedure that you need to follow:
Step 2: In the left pane, click View installed updates option to view list of updates already installed on your machine.
Step 3: Look for the updates under Microsoft Office 2010 category, right-click on Microsoft Office 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1) entry and select Uninstall.
Step 4: Click Uninstall button for the confirmation prompt to start the process. You will be asked to reboot your computer to complete the procedure.
Step 5: You are done!
