The native Mail app that ships with Windows 8 is a pretty good one with decent set of features. Though it lacks many features available in popular desktop mail clients, it’s the best mail client app out there for Windows 8.
The Mail app supports all popular webmail services including Outlook.com, Yahoo! Mail and Gmail (see how to add Gmail to Mail app). While it sports an easy-to-use interface as well, many novice users find it difficult to locate the print option.
As with the case of other modern apps designed for Windows 8, the Mail app also doesn’t offer a Print button to quickly print your emails. So, how to take print-outs of emails from the Mail app in Windows 8?
Complete the below mentioned instructions to quickly take print-outs of your emails:
Step 1: While using the Mail app, move the mouse pointer to the upper or lower right corner of the screen to see the Charms bar. Touch screen users can swipe-in from the right edge of the screen to reveal the Charms bar.
NOTE: You can also use Ctrl + P hotkey to quickly view all connected printers.
Step 2: Click or tap Devices charm to see your printer name. If your printer’s name isn’t appearing, make sure that the printer is connected to your PC and is turned on. You might also need to click the small More button to see your printer’s name.
Step 3: Click or tap your printer’s name to see print options such as page layout, paper size, and number of copies.
Step 4: Finally, click or tap Print button to start the printing job. That’s it!
NOTE: You can use the above procedure to perform print operation from other modern apps as well.
