Try some preliminary checks to see if one of them helps fix the error:

  • Restart the Xbox console.
  • Check for Warzone game updates. One of the most common errors does not allow users to update the game and throws up not enough free space errors, yet you can fix them in no time.

1. Reset your network hardware

  • Remove the power cord from the back of the router, modem, or gateway, and wait for 5 minutes.
  • If using both a router and a modem, disconnect the power cord from both devices.
  • Long hold the Xbox button on your console till it shuts down, and then wait for 2 minutes before you start the device again.
  • Once 5 minutes are up, connect the modem or gateway, and now wait for all the lights to switch on and be normal again. Repeat for your router too.

2. Reset the console keeping games and apps

  • Press the button on the Xbox device to open the guide.
  • Next, click to expand Profile & system, and select Settings.
  • Now, under Settings, click on System.
  • Under system settings, on the right, click on Console info & updates.
  • On the next screen, click on Reset console on the left.
  • You will now see a prompt asking Reset your console? Click on Reset and keep my games & apps.

Once done, you can now continue with your game without coming across the error code 25509 in MW2 anymore.

3. Turn off VPN and proxy

  • Press the Win + I shortcut keys to launch Windows Settings, click on Network & Internet on the left, and then click on VPN on the right.
  • On the next screen, click to expand the VPN connection on the right you want to disable and click Disconnect.
  • Now, return to Network & internet, and click on Proxy.
  • Here, under Automatic proxy setup, turn on the Automatically detect settings option.
  • Next, under Manual proxy setup, disable the Use a proxy server option.
