Users who have already installed Windows 8 Release Preview (RP) probably knowing that Windows Media Center isn’t preinstalled in Windows 8. As you probably know, Windows Media Center won’t be available in Windows 8 RTM as well and users who want to get the feature must pay extra to download and install the same.

However, users running Windows 8 RP can enable Media Center for free. If you are a Media Center lover and can’t live without it, you can now add Windows Media Center to Windows 8 RP in a jiffy. Just follow the given below instructions to enable Windows Media Center in Windows 8 RP.

Step 1: Move the mouse cursor to the upper-right corner of the screen to bring up Charms Bar and then click Search. If you are running Windows 8 on a tablet or PC with touch screen, simply swipe from the right edge of the screen to see Charms Bar and then tap Search.

Step 2: In the search box, enter Add features and then tap or click to see Add features to Windows 8 in the search result.

Step 3: Click (or tap) Add features to Windows 8, tap or click Yes for the User Account Control prompt to see Add features to Windows wizard.

Step 4: Here, click or tap I already have a product key and then enter this product key: MBFBV-W3DP2-2MVKN-PJCQD-KKTF7

After entering the key, click or tap Next button.

Step 5: Select I accept the license terms checkbox and then click or tap Add features button to begin adding the feature. During this, your PC will be restarted once or twice. Finally, you will see “Thanks, you’re all done and your PC is ready to go” message.

You should now see Windows Media Center tile on the Start screen.
